Harambee!

We are so excited that our friends in the Urban Education Fellows program at SCSU came to facilitate Harambee at our school.  Harambee, a Swahili term for "come together," is a time for our 2nd grade students and teachers to come together as a community and begin their day feeling motivated and empowered.  We are very inspired and look forward to Harambee again!

First Graders Standing Tall

At our January Town Meeting, first graders from Mrs. Cappiello's class presented work from their unit on animal communication.  They created a game show that involved matching the animal with their appropriate communication technique.  Students from the crowd got to participate in the game and try to make a match.  There was lots of laughing, cheering, and learning from the crowd.  Great job first graders!
